Roof Repair in Silver Grove for Leaks, Lifted Shingles and Storm Wear
A drip in the ceiling or shingles in the yard is stressful. We come out, find where the water is getting in, show you photos and explain the fix in plain words. Most problems can be repaired without replacing the whole roof, and we will tell you honestly when they can.
When a Repair Is the Right Call
Roof repair makes sense when the roof as a whole still has life in it and the trouble is in one area: a handful of shingles torn loose by wind, a cracked boot around a vent pipe, flashing that has pulled away from a chimney or wall. Fixing those spots properly stops the water and protects the decking, insulation and ceilings underneath.
After a storm, the hardest part is often knowing what to do first. Our advice is simple. Keep valuables dry, take a few photos from the ground, and stay off the ladder. Then get the roof looked at soon, because a small opening lets in more water with every rain and every freeze-thaw cycle that follows.
If what we find points to widespread damage or a roof at the end of its life, we will say so and walk you through roof replacement instead. If the damage came from wind or hail, our storm damage repair page explains how we help with the insurance side.

What a Repair Visit Can Fix
- 01
Finding the entry point
The wet spot on your ceiling is usually not right under the opening. Water runs along rafters and decking first, so we trace it from the attic side when we can and match it to what we see up top before any fix goes on.
- 02
Shingle replacement
Torn, creased or missing shingles come off and new ones go in, nailed and tucked under the row above so the course lies flat and sheds water again. We look for the nearest color and profile to what is already on your home.
- 03
Flashing repair
Chimneys, skylights, sidewalls and valleys are where many leaks start. We reset or replace bent and rusted flashing and seal it so water runs past instead of under.
- 04
Vent boots and penetrations
Rubber pipe boots crack in the sun and cold over time. We replace them along with damaged roof vents and exhaust caps.
- 05
Soft decking spots
If water has already soaked the wood under the shingles, we cut out the soft section and install new decking so the repair has a solid base.
- 06
Temporary cover when needed
When a full repair has to wait for materials or dry weather, we can secure a tarp over the damaged area to keep water out in the meantime.
Questions about Roof Repair?
Call(859) 251-3557Clues That Point to a Roof Repair
Ceiling spots and peeling paint
A yellowed ring or paint that blisters overhead is water finding its way in, and it may have been happening for weeks. The opening above is often a few feet off to one side.
Shingles in the yard
After strong wind, loose tabs or whole shingles on the ground mean there is an exposed patch above.
Damp or dark attic wood
Look for wet insulation, dark streaks on the rafters or daylight around a vent pipe.
Lifted or curled edges
Shingles that flap in the wind or curl at the corners no longer seal, and rain can be pushed underneath.
Water at the chimney
Damp brick inside, or stains on the wall beside the chimney, usually point to failed flashing.
Icicles and winter drips
Heavy ice along the eaves can back water up under shingles. If you see drips during a thaw, have the edge checked.
How a Repair Visit Goes
- 1
A quick phone conversation
On the call we hear what you have noticed, like where the drip shows up and whether it started after wind or a heavy rain. Then we pick a time for your free roof inspection that fits your week.
- 2
We inspect and take photos
We check the roof surface, flashing and vents, and the attic if you let us. You get photos of what we found so you can see it for yourself.
- 3
You get a clear repair price
We explain the cause, what the fix involves and what it costs, line by line. If a repair will not hold, we tell you that too. Nothing starts until you say yes.
- 4
We fix it and clean up
We protect plants and walkways below, make the repair, and pick up nails and old shingles before we leave. Then we show you the finished work.
What Affects the Cost of a Roof Repair
We price each repair after we have been on the roof, since the same brown spot inside can come from a cracked pipe boot, loose flashing or a single missing shingle. You hear the price before any work begins. Right now we are offering Limited Time — $50 Off Your First Service Call.
- Size of the damaged area
- A few shingles is a short job. A torn section across a slope takes more material and time.
- What is underneath
- If the decking or underlayment is wet or rotted, that wood has to be replaced so the new shingles hold.
- Roof pitch and access
- Steep slopes and second-story roofs need extra safety setup, which adds labor.
- Flashing and detail work
- Repairs around chimneys, skylights and valleys take more care than open field shingles and often need new metal.
- Matching materials
- Older or discontinued shingles can be harder to source, which may affect the price or the closest available match.
Roof Repair Questions
Can one section be repaired, or does the whole roof have to go?
If the damage sits in one spot and the shingles around it still lie flat and hold their granules, a repair is usually enough. We only bring up replacement when wear shows on every slope or the damage covers too much ground for a fix to last. You see our photos, and the choice stays with you.
Will the new shingles match the old ones?
We look for the closest match in color and style. On a roof that has weathered for years, new shingles may look slightly brighter at first and tend to blend in over time. We will tell you before the work how close a match we can get.
Is a leak from a storm covered by insurance?
It depends on your policy and the cause. Sudden wind or hail damage is often covered, while slow wear usually is not. We can document what we find with photos and explain what we see, but your adjuster makes the coverage call.
How soon should I get a leak looked at?
Sooner is better. Even a slow drip can soak insulation and rot decking, and winter freezing makes small openings bigger. Put a bucket down, move anything valuable, and give us a call to set up an inspection.
Do I need to be home during the repair?
Not always. We like to meet you for the inspection so we can talk through what we find. For the repair itself, we just need access to the outside, and we will show you photos of the finished work if you are away.
