ServicesRoof Replacement

Roof Replacement in Silver Grove

When your roof is worn out or a storm has damaged too much of it to patch, we replace it properly. We strip it to the decking, fix what is underneath and build a new roof that keeps your home dry for years.

When a New Roof Is the Right Call

Not every leak means you need a new roof, and we will tell you when a repair will do. A full replacement is worth it when your shingles have simply aged out, when damage shows up on several slopes at once, or when patch after patch keeps failing because the trouble goes deeper than one spot.

After a hailstorm or a strong spring wind, many homeowners feel pressure to sign something fast. We would rather slow it down. We inspect the whole roof, photograph what we find and explain whether replacement is truly needed before any work is planned.

Northern Kentucky winters bring freeze and thaw cycles that open small gaps and push water under worn shingles. A new roof built with good ice and water protection at the edges and valleys handles that much better than an old one held together with patches.

What Your Roof Replacement Includes

Full tear-off
Every old shingle and every scrap of old felt comes off until we reach bare decking. Roofing over an existing layer buries problems we need to see and puts extra weight on your framing, so we always start from a clean surface.
Decking check and repair
Once the roof is open, we look at every sheet of decking. Any board that is soft, rotted or coming apart in layers gets swapped out, and you see our pictures of it before new wood goes down.
Underlayment and ice barrier
A synthetic underlayment covers the whole deck. Along the eaves and through the valleys, where ice dams and heavy runoff hit hardest, we add a layer of ice and water membrane.
New flashing and vents
Chimneys, walls, skylights and pipe boots get new flashing rather than reused metal. We also check that your attic has enough intake and exhaust ventilation, since trapped heat and moisture shorten a roof's life.
Shingles and ridge
New shingles go on with the correct nail pattern for wind resistance, finished with ridge caps that match.
Cleanup and magnet sweep
We tarp landscaping, haul away all debris and run a magnetic sweeper over your lawn and driveway to pick up stray nails.

Signs Your Roof May Need Replacing

  • Widespread storm damage

Hail bruises, cracked shingles or missing tabs on more than one slope often mean a repair would only cover part of the problem. A full inspection tells you for sure.

  • Worn, misshapen shingles

When shingle edges start lifting into a curl, or the gritty surface has worn away to the dark mat below, they stop shedding water the way they should. A pile of loose granules in your gutters is an early clue.

  • Repeated leaks in new places

If you fix one leak and another appears a few months later, the roof as a whole is likely failing.

  • Sagging rooflines

A dip between rafters can point to wet, weakened decking. This needs attention before it spreads.

  • Daylight or stains in the attic

Light coming through boards, dark water marks or damp insulation after rain are signs that water is getting past the shingles.

How Your Replacement Goes

  1. 1

    Free inspection with pictures

We go over every slope, look into the attic when there is access and photograph each problem we spot. Then you get a straight answer on whether a repair or a new roof is the better choice.

  2. 2

    Written estimate and permit

You receive a line-item estimate that spells out materials and any decking allowance. We pull the permit where one is required, and if a storm caused the damage we explain how the insurance process works so you know what to ask your adjuster.

  3. 3

Prep on the morning of the job

We cover shrubs, protect siding and windows, and set a dumpster or trailer where it does the least damage to your yard. We will let you know about parking and noise ahead of time.

  4. 4

    Tear-off and rebuild

Most homes are stripped and reroofed in a day or two, depending on size and weather. We only open as much roof as we can close up the same day.

  5. 5

    Final look together

After the ridge caps are set, the crew gathers every scrap and runs the nail magnet one more time. Then we stand with you in the yard, point out the new flashing and vents, and answer anything you want to know about your new roof.

What Affects the Cost of a New Roof

Every roof is priced on its own measurements and conditions, so we give you a number after we have seen it. Your written estimate shows each part of the job, and we talk through any decking that might need replacing before work starts so the final bill holds no surprises.

Roof size and pitch
More squares of roofing mean more material and labor. Steep roofs take extra safety setup and slower work.
Layers to remove
Older homes sometimes have two layers of shingles. Tearing off both adds labor and disposal.
Decking condition
Rotted or soft boards found during tear-off need replacing. We photograph them and confirm with you first.
Shape and penetrations
Valleys, dormers, chimneys and skylights all add flashing work and time.
Materials you choose
Shingle line, color and ventilation upgrades each change the total, and we explain the tradeoffs plainly.

Roof Replacement Questions

Something not covered here? (859) 251-3557

Will my insurance pay for a new roof after a storm?

It depends on your policy and on what caused the damage. If hail or wind did the harm, we document it with photos and explain what the adjuster will look for. The adjuster and your insurer make the coverage decision, and we will help you understand it.

Do I need to be home during the work?

No, though many homeowners like to be. We ask that cars be out of the garage and that pets stay inside or away from the work area. Expect noise from tear-off, especially in rooms right under the roof.

Can you just put new shingles over my old roof?

We do not recommend it. Going over old shingles hides rotted decking, adds weight and can shorten the new roof's life. A full tear-off lets us fix what is underneath.

What happens if it rains during the job?

We watch the forecast closely and only open what we can dry in that day. If weather turns, we cover exposed areas with underlayment and tarps so your home stays dry.

Is it worth doing new gutters while the roof is off?

Often, yes. Gutters that sag, drip at the seams or have pulled loose from the fascia are easier to swap while the crew and ladders are already in place, and the new drip edge can be fitted to them cleanly. We will check yours during the inspection and tell you honestly if our gutters service is worth adding or if yours have years left.
